I don't have any access to AD or DNS.

Who installed\controls the domain controller(s) and DNS server(s)?

It was more of a drive-letter swap. The reason was that new, faster storage has been provisioned so data on the old drive was moved to the new....

yes, until the IP is bound to the adapter you cannot use it, but as I said you're still pushing all that traffic down the 1 NIC!

Well, no.
To use the IP you wanted to use you would need to add this to your NIC IP address list

Figured already that if i use the Ip of the networkcard (10.0.255.170) instead of a virtual ip (10.0.255.83) all work as a charm. Problem here is that...

I've moved what I would call the static folders before and yes theyre in registry keys in the sql instances hive. Why are you changing drive letters, why not retain...

if DB1, DB2 and DB3 aren't logically grouped then use separate groups for them. If theyre logically grouped, for instance all belonging to one application then use 1 ASO group.
