Can the log ship backups be used for general restoration?
Yes, they're regular log backups so don't go deleting them.

you should be patching the mirror instance first, then failover to the mirror which now becomes principal.
Patch the instance that is now the mirror and then failback if desired

have you checked for a job running on the server that is taking log backups?

TDE protects data at 'rest', meaning if someone got a hold of our physical .mdf/.ldf files, or our .bak's, or tapes, they could recover the data.

Hi,We are using Windows 2012 & Sql Server 2014.
I can see only failovercluster manager but not able to find the Cluster administrator.
Is both are same?
Failover cluster manager replaces cluster...

destroying the cluster without uninstalling is not a recommended option. Evicting a node and re adding without uninstalling has not produced issues for me in the past.

as i said, Windows 2012 R2 actually has more stability than previous versions, check my stairway for more info why.
That error is almost certainly nothing to do with Windows, check...

FYI - All VMWare.......For VLDBs, I'd prefer not to use pure AAG between 2 DCs, as that normally leads to 3 copies+.
