    mwpowellhtx (3/17/2015)

It is an interesting exercise, but doesn't really accomplish anything anyone would encounter in the real world. BREAK is an interesting SQL keyword, did not know that. Also beware...

  • RE: Identity Data Types

I worked at a company where all the identity columns were decimal(18,0), and I'd already made small tables in other circumstances that were tinyint, so easy one for me. if...

  • RE: way to generate some random unique sequences

By having the structure you're asking for, along with a sequence, doesn't that make it no longer random?

I've done something similar on a smaller scale to get every 3...

  • RE: The Import Wizard

As I recall part of the problem is it depends where in the file the longer records are. My recollection is that the first few records (I don't know how...

  • RE: Friday Shirts

    Richard Warr (10/31/2014)

Sadly my eyesight isn't what it was and I misread "Shirts" as a similar word without an "r" in it.

Have some fun and enjoy the opportunity.

On the side, will you be back June 14th or July 14th?

He must mean July as SQLBits is July 17th, either that or...

    Hany Helmy (5/17/2014)

    paul.goldstraw (5/16/2014)

I had a similar problem with 2012 where using CTRL+R didn't toggle the results window. I followed the advice on this page. Perhaps you're affected in the...

    bgdjwoods (5/16/2014)

I tried this several times and even for the question the other day that referred to this, no go.. this does not work. I get the error that...

    Easy one, thanks.

You have the only working copy of SQL Server 2012 where CTRL+SHIFT+D actually does something?

Maybe he's running SQL Server 2012 QOTD...

  • RE: Getting the grid back

Also Ctrl+Shft+D does do something, it refreshes the cache in SQL Prompt, which is funny considering this is a Red-Gate site. Opportunity for a product plug there 🙂

    PHYData DBA (4/29/2014)

    paul.goldstraw (4/29/2014)

I think we're just reading the question differently. I read 'ALL queries' in the context of the database we don't want to use the new optimiser. If...

You are right. It said Alter ALL queries to use this trace flag. Not just the queries that use the database they want to disable CE for....
