Could it be effect from caching effect in IE?

If IE is set to refresh the page on each load, it would cause the same effect...

I'm not sure if it helps but I have ssrs 2005 SP4 here and the back button in IE 8 brings me back to the parent report in its state...

What's different between the 2 environements?

If you can reattach to the original server, then it means the db files are fine... and that it's a permission issue.

This error can mean 2 things, either the server doesn't have read / write access to that folder. Or the file already exists.

Make a calendar table, select the range from that table and then left join on attendance and students

Just consider the ressources required to find / hire a competent DBA (especially with noone around to tell you what a good candidate looks like).
