Ya but if you want to minimize downtime you could possibly just copy the data, then do the switching. That way the downtime would be minimal.

All 3 files downloading fine at the moment (download 32 bit version, US english). I'm based in canada so maybe I hit a different download server.

My first guess would be implicit converts... nullifying the indexes.
Can you post the query, table ddl, index & keys DDL along with the actual execution plan (not estimated).
