the very large files are audittrace2009.......trc files
and they are in the data directory.

when I try the exec commands it tells me that I have to use sp-configure to turn it off.

when I run the sp_configure commands I receive an error message stating the 'common criteria compliance enabled' does not exist or it may be an advanced option.'

I do not know how to answer you. My original question was that these trace files are showing up without me intentionally doing anything but installing MS SQL 2005...

Also I turned the cw_audit mode off yesterday. Both values are zero. It did no good. I still get huge trc files
