I have to admit every version now seems to be harder than the previous to install and comes with more options and selections.😎

You didn't install Developer edition, but Evaluation edition.
With Developer edition you don't need...

Tabular is just like SSAS Multidimensional: it provides an analytic abstraction layerto end users to allow easier analytic reporting and analysis.
The difference is that Tabular compresses data using column store...
