There's something strange going on. It isn't normal for the Execute Package Task to slow packages down. Are you executing other packages in parallel?

You can add the .rdl files as existing items in your VS solution.
What's those .rdf files you keep talking about? Never heard about them and the only hit Google gives...

You can simply download the files from the server using either Report Manager or SharePoint (whatever your integrations is).

In theory SQL Server has a maximum of 8Kb per row. (which can be overflowed by using variable length columns)
However, blob and XML columns do not take part in this...
