    Why mess with the DATEFIRST setting when it's not necessary? There are methods which can do the calculation simply without needing a specific datefirst setting, so why hassle...

    It's far better to set the database to SINGLE user mode with ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE, immediately return it to MULTI user mode ....

    The 'with ROLLBACK IMMEDIATE' will automaticcaly kill...
