Is the analysis services service running on that server? Check in Windows services management and make sure it's running.

I can't tell you how to do that in VB in SSIS, but it would be amazingly easy to turn those into input parameters for a stored procedure and then...

A lot of the answers to your questions will depend on your local job market.
For example, there are a lot of jobs where I am that don't require any Oracle...

Querying that data hourly might not be a bad idea. Dump it into a warehouse where you can use Analysis Services on it.

If you have the rights to create rights, there should be a link in the upper right corner of the reports management page for "Site Settings". That's where you control...
