I'd strongly recommend reading Craig Mullin's book "Database Administration." It's a few years old, but it does a fairly good job of describing what a DBA is and does.

It really depends. It's possible you could do 10 at once, but are there relationships between these tables? That will certainly affect data loading. Maybe there's an issue with indexes...
