I've never had any trouble typing into a command window. You can specify the password on the command line -P <password> or use -E for trusted connection if your windows...

Did you check the error log to see how long recovery is still expected to take?
Bear in mind, if you restore you'll also have to reconfigure the mirroring.

Can you post some easily usable sample data please (see http://www.sqlservercentral.com/articles/Best+Practices/61537/). I'm sure this could be massively optimised, not the least by getting rid of that UDF.

The vendor got back to me again to let me know that further testing in their labs has shown that this is a bug in thier solution.

Other than the unnecessary join in the subquery (the IN does a 'join', no need to do it again), it looks fine.
