    We never use IDENTITY in RDBMS.

    When the database was checking for errors during the maintenance plan it when into recovery mode. So for the time being I just backing up the model database....

    It can't. They were unrelated errors.

    Sure, as long as good performance is not a requirement. Those catch-all style queries are horridly slow in many cases.

    No need, there aren't that many security vulnerabilities in SQL. Security patches mostly follow the CU and SP model.

    50000 is a user-defined error. It's raised by using RAISERROR.

    Assuming EXECUTE ErrorHandler has that in, something has failed somewhere in that catch block Suggest you add some more debugging or...
