Auto is not an option for filegrowth, specify the growth increment you want.

Looks like something odd in the metadata. Run a checkDB to be sure there's nothing actually wrong.

Are you sure that it really is in single user? Sp_help says multi user and that setting can't be set in the master database.

The truncate only option is only valid for data files, it's ignored completely when shrinking a log file.

Indexing can reduce execution time, if the correct indexes are chosen and the code is written so that it can use indexes.

Unless you had some form of auditing or tracing in place before that happened, you probably don't.
You can check the default trace, but I'm not sure if database-level permission changes...

I'd suggest you take that issue up with management, it's a risk.

If you mean running tuning adviser and just accepting all suggestions without consideration, then no, it's not safe to do.
