You need to keep in mind that there is a lot of additional memory needed to support this. Those drives do have updated drivers that cuts the amountof memory...

I agree with Dan, SSIS supports Excel source and destinations out of the box without additional components.

However, to know how many you need to true up is pretty easy. You need to find out what you have licensed...

I have never seen any such thing happen..
1. Get a current backup
2. Either setup a trace or setup a DDL trigger to see what is actuallybeing issued to the database....
