    I would think a simple UPDATE statement would do the trick.

    UPDATE table_name

    SET col6 = 1

    WHERE col1 IS NOT NULL

    AND col2 IS NOT...

    What Gianluca is referring to is the application server not knowing the DNS name of the virtual IP. Depending on your permissions, you might have to get the network...
