'Select count(*) from deleted'
then you will get 4 back ( in this case).
How do you mean 'only getting one' , are you thinking...

My guess is procedure cache bloat due to ad-hoc queries.
Which reminds me , ive still got a half finished blog on forced parametrization hanging around.

Do you mean the procedure cache (DBCC FREEPROCCACHE) or the buffer cache(DBCC DROPCLEANBUFFERS) ?
Im guessing the former, could potentially be parameter sniffing http://www.sqlpointers.com/2006/11/parameter-sniffing-stored-procedures.html

See here on howto backup a database http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms187510.aspx
However, if you have not backed up this database , you have lost the value you have overwritten.

April 6, 2010 at 4:07 am
You dont.
You need to send the commands batches ( ie each GO block) separately to SQLServer.
April 6, 2010 at 3:54 am
GO as a command means nothing to Sqlserver. It is used by management studio to break the commands into separate batches. You need to send you commands in...

Try taking the results of
SELECT StudentId
FROM fnGetStudentsWithMultiofficeSupportForHistoryChanges(@loginToken,@AreaID,@IsNodeMultioffice)
into a temptable and joining to that instead.
What does the plan look like with that ?

Looking at this loop in isolation , you should be able to build together two string.
One to Alter the table to add all the columns required in one hit :
ie
alter...
