When working with those XML plans PowerShell makes it really easy to traverse the nodes as Rob shows here.

I agree with what Steve says here but of course I'd do it with PowerShell[/url]. If you really do need it to be exported as Excel file I think...

Beware that Paul Randal highly recommends backup/restore over detach/attach. He goes on to say that if you decide to go the detach/attach route be sure to "copy" the files...
