I have tried that also and i dont have that special character appearing.
It seems like you have an extra character at the end of you script or something (e.g. space)

We run index maintenance(rebuild/reorganise) every night on our sharepoint databases as our databases are highly used.
I don't see any harm in rebuilding/reorganising sharepoint indexes.

I have managed to resolve this issue.
Index tuning wizard was unable to parase a query because some of the field in that table had special characters...

Would it be better to have 8k for tempdb files...

I am sure you can change this parameter in sql idera too.
by default it collects query information every 5000 milliseconds but it is chanchable using configuration wizard.

1. Perform side-by-side upgrade.

3. DTS is depricated feature so you have an option to upgrade it to SSIS or download compatibility pack from microsoft to...
