  • RE: Need to return query result in 0.02 sec

Sorry, but it is my professional opinion that hunting and pecking on this forum will never get you to 5000 hits/sec returning at 0.02 sec max per hit spread across...

  • RE: Storage estimation

Sorry, but my guess is that there isn't enough heavy duty users of varbinary and xml that would be able to give you guidance.

  • RE: Log shipping or Mirroring 40+ databases

  • RE: Log shipping or Mirroring 40+ databases

  • RE: I got burned today at a SQL Server Interview!

Gotta disagree with you on the autoupdate stats being off statement. There are indeed a few huge production systems out there where autoupdate should be disabled, and also warehouse...

  • RE: Log shipping or Mirroring 40+ databases

Don't think we are crossed. Just that something tickles the back of my head that if you have mirroring set up with a cluster as primary if the cluster...

FWIW, I put two people through phone screens yesterday. Both had more than 8 years experience in SQL Server. Both were listed as senior level consultants. Neither could...

  • RE: LINQ TO SQL

I think cache pollution may wind up being one of the biggest issues - especially for those not on 2005 SP2.

  • RE: I got burned today at a SQL Server Interview!

Sounds like I am definitely among the fortunate here!! I haven't had to deal with a technical interview in over 10 years since I first started consulting. Hell,...

  • RE: Log shipping or Mirroring 40+ databases

I thought if you do mirroring from a clustered arrangement if the cluster fails over it will cause mirroring to fail over to the secondary, which is undesired. I...

  • RE: SAN/CPU's SQL 2005 Enterpriseedition

You can easily test 900GB file sizes (well, actually with a database that size you should be using file groups of smaller sizes that net to 900+GB). Check out...
