We take advantage of two: online reindex and compression (data and backup). Just those features are worth it in my opinion.

If you can only have a couple hours data loss at the max, then enable Full recovery model and setup a backup schedule for your tran logs.

How big are the databases?
How many databases?
Have you considered transaction log backups?
What is the recovery model of your databases?

The link provided is a good example on how to use DTUtil.
You could also run a query to select the most recent version of that package from sysdtspackages90 (sql 2005)...
