    I have seen vcenter do this on quite a few occassions. IIRC there was a patch for it.

    I would also only do these during offhours with that database.

    On the server with the CPU spikes, please check the BIOS settings for Energy Saving features.

    If enabled, disable them.

    Any documentation regarding this causing that behavior?
