That would be correct. After the shrink, you will need to rebuild due to the fragmentation the shrink will cause.

Another option is to find the largest table in the database, multiply it by 1.5. Once you have that number, shrink the file to leave at least that amount...

With that hardware, I would probably install SQL Server and User databases to the RAID 1. Save the other drive for the backups or maybe for tempdb.
