I've maintained for years that pivot tables in Excel were as close to BI-nirvana as humanity is likely to get.

I doubt that ti would make much difference. Though you could always test it to see for you specific case.

You would probably want to partition this table across multiple Volumes, additionally insuring that none of these volumes shared any physical disks. You should probably use a partitioning function...

Are you trying to say that there is no "SQL Native Client Configuration" entry on the Explorer pans (the left-side pane) of the SQL Server Configuration Manager?
