Yeah, I actually ran this one in QA, something I don't normally do, because I figured there had to be a catch somewhere.  I guess this one was to make...

  • RE: Question of the Day for 15 Nov 2004

Hm, I think the problem is that this was a question as much about the query designer in Enterprise Manager as it was a SQL question.  He was very clear about...

  • RE: Question of the Day for 22 Oct 2004

I'm all for trick questions, it's just slightly annoying that the question specifically asked you NOT to try it first.  The only reason I can think of as to why someone would...

  • RE: Question of the Day for 19 Oct 2004

I agree Bob, this question is a great argument for explicit code.  I don't blame the product though, computers are only as effective as the people who tell them what...

  • RE: Lookup Table Madness

I would definitely like to see an example of a case where a MUCK table was a good solution.  What is the value of this sort of design?  Just fewer...

Arggh, I'm getting really annoyed with having to second guess what the author means with these questions.  I knew that you could have an ORDER BY clause in a view...

  • RE: Question of the Day for 13 Aug 2004

Hmm, that's a pretty crucial typo, but I guess you're right, it probably was.  Although there's no way you could have known that until you tried to answer the question.  At least with...

  • RE: Question of the Day for 13 Aug 2004

Yes, that's why I answered no, this is an infinite loop any way you slice it and I doubt that's going to be very successful at reducing load on your...
