    Hi there Jeff.

Very interesting story you have there. It wasn't that long, or my levels of interest went sky high when i started to read it.

    Hi there Glenn.

I really enjoyed your post. Very concise and straighforward. Neverthless i think 64GB of RAM is bit overkill to a database that's only 16GB althgouh, like i said...

    - SQL Server + simple messaging services= 10GB

    - Retail (20 CAL) = 8GB

    - RDS (5 CAL)= 4GB

    - Production (1...

  • RE: What would be the best practice to migrate my database from 2005 to 2008? Thanks.

    Hi

But like the previous poster said, test it. Although dettaching...

    Machine getting frequently rebooted?

    Not really, no.

Thanks for bringing that up, i'll now check if the write-caching gets enabled after each boot.

  • RE: Unconsistent consistency errors...

Just finished going through the procedure of running CHECKDB on another spin.

The first run required REPAIR_REBUILD. After that i ran CHECKDB 3 times in a row, and the results were...

Ow, that's a waste of time. Ditch that plan entirely, go grab Ola's index maintenance script. Use that. Put checkDB (and your backups) in a separate plan

    At this point...

Are you doing index rebuilds right after the consistency checks?

These results were obtained running the command right from a query window.

I do have a scheduled maintenance plan (runs everyday...

No, it won't be the OS drive if the database files aren't on it.

    Errors please.

Hi Gail, thanks for the quick reply.

On this run of CHECKDB WITH ALL_ERRORMSGS i got...
