ok seems the distrib.exe should only run when its need to call the job. The problem was in a post snapshot script.

Ok I have setup the subscription to run in continous mode however not sure what is happpening as this was working but now isn't. The Distrib.exe is not running...

unfortunately no trust between domains. In an effort to reduce pressure on the publisher we are running the snapshot on a remote distributor.

Try logging onto that instance with a administrator account and seeing if the account you are using exists and has correct permissions.

Well the SPID related to a motnthly job that is used to start a procedure to populate some "snapshot" tables. I had to stop the job.
