Not necessarily. I just did a test and the drop database did not get recorded to the ERRORLOG. The "starting up database" did for the create, but that's it.

Truncate table basically is faster because of how it "removes" the data. There are limitations:
1) Must be db_owner, db_ddladmin, or table owner.
2) You can't use it on a table referenced...

Take a look at sp_change_users_login using the report option.
USE MyDatabase

You can see the duration using SET STATISTICS TIME ON and then executing the query, but this is probably only useful if you're manually running queries in QA or something...
