You said you didn't want links unless they...

I don't really understand what you mean. You are quite able to build what I have suggested above and then schedule it. What comparison are you going to be making?

I think you might be approaching this the wrong way. For a start, you shouldn't try to affect a package variable anyway because even if it worked, only the value...

This should do it for you: http://blogs.conchango.com/jamiethomson/archive/2006/05/31/4009.aspx
You should be able to adapt this easily so as to pass in all your symbols. Good luck!!

Bill,
Hopefully this will answer your question: http://blogs.conchango.com/jamiethomson/archive/2006/05/23/3984.aspx

Regarding querying the data like Steve mentioned...i'd be interested as to whether this is within the capabilities of Analysis Services or not.
Its a shame that there aren't TPC multidimensional DB benchmarks as...

Strange!
I can only guess at a faulty install. Sorry I can't help more!

OK cool. And can you find "MsDtsSrvr.ini.xml"? if its not there then something is amiss - perhaps a faulty install??? I'm afraid I don't have the answer.

Being able to use BIDS does NOT mean that SSIS is installed. BIDS gets installed when you select the Client Tools option during install. SSIS is a seperate option.
Do a search...

Patrick,
If the file (MsDtsSrvr.ini.xml) isn't where Kirk's blog post says it should be then you haven't installed SSIS.

Ryan,
I'm keen to know if Robert's suggested fix worked for you.
