Compat Level - 10.. but databases were written in 8 or 9 - but you'll have to wait if you want an example... snowed here today and they shut us...

Something else is a bit disturbing here... the datetime2 is often a default time now for getdate() (or seems to be) and it can be problematic in databases created prior...

Can't quite understand why I should expect it to fail unless I had never understood DateTime2 in the first place. I expected it to work and it did.

Correct. It is fairly common for someone to advise me to add shrink to my plan but it seems to me unnecessary and what I've read indicates I'm right....

I like it as is. There are purposes for shrinking. It is easy to do. It is a well-known fact that shrinking a database hurts...

My eyes stumbled over this several times... "inside groups"... maybe if the questions had been ordered a bit differently it would be easier to figure out which answer is correct.

Ditto... good question. Sql rounding is confusing when you have been trained to add .5 to an integer to round - as it doesn't work that way. ...

I totally missed that spurious semicolon in the subquery.
I was focused on the logic of the statement, and not a spurious typo.
