  • RE: validating Data using DTS Wizard

I know how to do that in SSIS and in T-SQL, but not in DTS. Maybe try the SQL 2000 Forums on this page. You might have more...

  • RE: Where is column description located in a system table

I don't believe you can update those directly in the system tables. Haven't tried, but I'll be shocked if you can do it.

What you might be able to do...

  • RE: Identity column

As far as replication set-up goes, I haven't done it enough to have a strong opinion one way or the other.

My point was merely that "rolling your own" on an...

  • RE: Database development with centralized stored procedures and multiple "data" databases

    Michael Earl (6/3/2008)

I agree with much of that, but this is a case of consolidating business units, not data from several companies (according to the original post). So, the...

  • RE: Identity column

Gotta agree with Michael on this one. Gaps in identity don't matter, and that's a good thing.

  • RE: Database development with centralized stored procedures and multiple "data" databases

    Michael Earl (6/2/2008)

If this is a total re-design, why wouldn't you just create a single database that included composite keys in the tables - one of the key fields indicating...

  • RE: Cannot insert data into SQLServer table linked in MSACCESS db

I've seen this before, but it's been a few years. It may have to do with the missing primary key.

  • RE: Unable to remove primary key

What that error means is that the primary key of the table is part of the key for the partition. That means it's not a permissions issue. First,...

  • RE: Case Statement

I'm assuming you mean the avg for either online or student. If that's correct, it would be something like:

    case

    when avg(online) > 0 then avg(online)

    else...
