    for testing disk setups brent ozar has a good blog post on using sqlio. sqlio only tests writing a file to the disk and not generating queries...

    Try with CHECKPOINT command every several batches, because log cannot be truncated if checkpoint did not occur (also happens...

    #tempSample is never cleared. So you throw out the same rows over and over in cross apply. Is that intentional?

    You also don't need uix_tmpSampleIndex index.

    #tmpSample is truncated right...

    I should have mentioned that the database is in simple recovery mode so the t log growth is simply from the amount of data in a single transition

    If you're happy with DropBox, use that. SkyDrive is just another option for it.

    Main reason I use SkyDrive is because I've been using it (and hotmail) since before...
