let us say that the version refer to technolgy progress (Little or big progress) ... but if yu change a small thing in tecnology (like MDAC) ... you don't need...

install SP3a for Sql Server 2000 ... and do all the above steps again

if you put it in Master ... then you can use in any database worked on this server .. and of course you need to backup the Master DB frequently...

MAY BE THERE IS A problem in dealing with lock ... the best thing is to run the query on the server (by making Stored Procedure on SQL SERVER) .....

Note: use Access XP (2002) upsizing wizard .. which is the best tool to transfer data and tables structure to SQL server 2000 ... and then change your connection...

make a System DSN on your machine ... and make it refer to your SQL Database ... then relink tables from Access ... I hope this help you

I think the best way is to use Access 2002 (XP) upsizing wizard to send the table ... then update your new table from this table .. by an update...
