    Had not thought about that road.  Here is what that script produced:

    CAST([name] AS VARBINARY(MAX)) = 0x23006D0079007400650073007400

    CAST('#mytest' AS VARBINARY(MAX)) = 0x236D7974657374

    Other than the extra zeros they match.
