Hello,
I have stored procedures called by scheduled jobs and the jobs produce the "xp_sendmail: failed with mail error 0x80040115" error. Then when I run the job again, everything works fine.
I reviewed the MAPI error code to discover that this particular hex value belongs to the error MAPI_E_NETWORK_ERROR. We are using SQL Server 2000 SP1 with Exchange 5.5. And in the Event Viewer, this event was found:
The description for Event ID ( 208 ) in Source ( SQLSERVERAGENT ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: JobName, 0xFD2735DA7FFA4C4C8DC6D758F999E3E8, Failed, 2002-08-15 05:30:06, The job failed. The Job was invoked by Schedule 262 (Daily at 5:30 am). The last step to run was step 1 (EXEC spName)..
Can anyone shed some light here? Do I need to have Outlook open on the server at all times?
