Send mail was working a few weeks ago but our network group has been upgrading our exchange server. Any direction on how to trouble shoot and resolve this?

Looks like this is an issue between exchange server 2010 and Outlook 2002. Sounds like xp_startmail, xp_sendmail and xp_stopmail do not work with exchange 2010. Still tracking down a solution.

did you login using the outlook user name that sql is using to see that mail is working on the server
did you xp_stopmail and xp_startmail
have you stopped and started sql services

Yes to all of the above. We are pretty sure that we need to delete and re-create the outlook user and profile on the server. Our network ops guy is looking into that now so hopefully that will clear this up.

i have this problem almost every day
since everytime sql looses connection with the mail server (we have a very flaky old mail server)
xp_sendmail get hosed upgrade to 2005 makes this go away
