Want to use xp_sendmail to write HTML email reports. Is there a way to indicate in the email header that the MIME type is HTML so the email clients will format the reports appropriately or am I going to have to go outside the SP API and look at something like CDO.

James - thanks. I went out to some more newsgroups and got the same answer from looking at people with the same problem and even noticed somebody on this newsgroup had posted the same problem previously. Since I have Outlook loaded on the server and don't want to create a SMTP server I am getting around the email issue by using OLE Automation with Outlook to send nicely formatted reports. Intend to call the exe I've built thru a SQL Server. A pity - I was really hoping to do absolutely everything in Transact SQL.

You can in T-SQL, but it's an ugly mail message you have to build. I too wish MS had included this.
Send it to sqlwish@microsoft.com
