Hi Guys,
I have a question regarding compression and different disk speeds...
I have a classic disk (15rpm) and a very fast SSD.
On each of the disk i have create a Filegroup.
What is now the best Choice for Data and indexes?
Actually i put the Data (Clustered Index) on the slow drive and all indizes on the SSD.
Furthermore I comress the Data on the slow disk but not the indizes.
What Do you mean? is this basically the best way??
Thanks in greetings from Germany.....

No where near enough information. Determining optimal IO placement takes a lot of work, a lot of analysis of virtual file stats, index usage, drive latency, etc, etc.
