Windows Explorer pegs CPU

  • I was wondering if anyone has had a problem with SQL 2005 when trying to save a new file or opening a file from within SQL Server Management Studio and it causing windows explorer to peg the processor on their PC for several minutes before popping up the open file or save file dialog? I have SP2 version 9.0.3050 installed and a couple of third party tools call SQL Refactor v1.1.09 and SQL Prompt v3.1.0.40 that are integrated into the SQL IDE. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    George

  • Can you post us the hardware specifications. Also would like to know if the problem occurs in the server also or only if you use it from remote client.

  • I'm using a Core 2 Duo with 2 gigs of RAM, 80 gig HD

I can access the server just fine from this pc or any other pc. I only have this problem on the client pc that I am using whenever I open a save or open dialog box while trying to open or save some sql script.
