Window Server 2008 O/S partitioning for SQL Server 2008

  • Hello room,

I am planning to install and configure my SQL Server 2008 Standard edition on the Window Server 2008 Enterprise with the following system:

Dual Xeon 5405 – SATA Monster

Dual Intel Xeon 5405 Quad Core 2.0Ghz Processor

    10 x 1000 GB 7.2k RPM SATA HDD – RAID 10

    8 GB Ram.

What kind of partitions on the windows Server 2008 O/S should I have?

    e.g: C: Partition = 50 GB installed O/S and SQL Server 2008

    D: Partition (SQL Data)

    E: Partition (SQL Logs)

    Can someone advice on this?

    Thanks,

    Edwin

I liked your own suggestion, that should be fine

Just keep in mind where you want the Pagefile and TempDB to be as well
