Why should SQL Server 2019 excite developers?

  • If they want to excite the BI Developer end of things, they need to put some love into SSIS and SSRS. SSIS hasn't had a real major upgrade since 2012, while SSRS is so far behind the curve it makes Access look good. Where is a decent code-behind editor, instead of the no-intellisense VB code window we have now? Where is copy formatting? Column specifications that do not have to be kludged? Just give us the tools we had back in MS Access, if not what we have come to expect from the Visual Studio IDE. Please, Microsoft, we love you, but don't make us feel that love is unrequited!
