Hi should i repost my latest ssms 21 bug, the one in which sql agent now doesnt show property details on steps in the gui but does show them when the job is scripted? It disappeared a couple of hrs ago because it was under eval.

there have been 3 updates that i'd like to post ...
-i installed ssms 19 side by side with the buggy ssms 21 and it has no problems in the gui with sql agent step details
-i tried connecting the buggy ssms 21 to a sql server that is 2022 (not 2019 like i have been doing) and the same problem occurs.
-did try a repair thru the vs installer to ssms 21 and did notice in spite of it working , it complained of being denied access to powershell, and that might prevent some components from being installed. not currently a user of powershell, i dont really know if its currently installed or if permissions might be on my regular id instead of my admin. i'll probably look up that error another time.

Make sure you are reporting this on the MSFT feedback page so that they have visibility of the bugs you're encountering also.

thx ant-green, report what? The buggy ssms 21 product or now going on close to a day that my latest sql server central post on ssms 21 issues disappeared?
...continuing issues with ssms 21, im not sure why our server shows 15 (ii think this is just a code not a version like 2019, 2022 etc) ... I know we are on 19 and i have seen reported issues with ssms 21 and older sql versions...nonetheless, notice the integration services catalog is missing in the image below. It really does exist.

Any issues with SSMS need to be reported to that link otherwise Microsoft won’t know of the bug.
As for 15.0.2120 that’s your build number of the version of SQL you’re using. Every version of SSMS has shown this, it’s nothing new.

15.0.2120 was released back in 2024 looks like you’re not keeping your servers patched, you’re on the GDR route so should have 2135 at least installed if not 2140 to be fully up to date.
SSMS21 has an additional install for the SSIS parts, you can’t simply do next next and get everything installed, probably run the installer again and ensure you select SSIS to be installed into SSMS also.

I can't speak to your topic. If you post, it should appear unless we detect things as SPAM. If you think there was an error, please send the webmaster (webmaster@) the details of where you posted and someone can try to track it down.
SSMS v21 has worked fairly well for me, but that's not to say there isn't a bug in there. I updated to 21.4.12 and I can see agent steps.
It is entirely possible your install is broken somehow, or there is some security/permission issues. What I would do is get someone on another machine to check the same instance you have with SSMS v21 and see what happens. Narrow down where the issue is.
