Does anyone know what W2008 R2 Core components are needed for SSRS?
I am having problems connecting to http://localhost to get SSRS items working. If anyone knows the minimum component set needed for this please let us all know.
BTW, the following components must be installed using OCSETUP to get SQL database services installed on W2008 R2 Core:
NetFx2-ServerCore (Should be installed by default with Core)
NetFx3-ServerCore
ServerCore-WOW64
NetFx2-ServerCore-WOW64
NetFx3-ServerCore-WOW64
MicrosoftWindowsPowerShell
MicrosoftWindowsPowerShell-WOW64

SQL Server FineBuild now supports installing SQL Server 2008 on Windows 2008 R2 Core.

Yet another update...
I have heard from Microsoft that all the currently available editions of SQL Server 2008 will not be supported by Microsoft on Windows 2008 R2 Core.
Apparently the plan is to release an update to SQL Server 2008 (my guess is a R2 or SP2 release) after the official release of Windows 2008 R2 that will provide the necessary support.
Even with all of this, it is possible to get a fully functional SQL Server 2008 RTM working on Windows 2008 R2 Core, apart from SSRS. It would be good to know what R2 Core Features are needed to get SSRS working.
