What motivates those of you who answer questions?

    Wait a minute...I thought we were supposed to be collecting a paycheck based on post count. I only do this for the money and the fame. 😛

    I post solely for the fortune and glory. So far the fortune has eluded me. 😛

    Seriously, I post primarily to learn and practice. The more practice you get, the faster you become.

    Oh yeah... then there's that helping others thing. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

    I also get quite a thrill out of the performance contests, even when I don't win, which is most of the time. :hehe:

    My thought question: Have you ever been told that your query runs too fast?

    My advice:
    INDEXing a poor-performing query is like putting sugar on cat food. Yeah, it probably tastes better but are you sure you want to eat it?
    The path of least resistance can be a slippery slope. Take care that fixing your fixes of fixes doesn't snowball and end up costing you more than fixing the root cause would have in the first place.

    Need to UNPIVOT? Why not CROSS APPLY VALUES instead?[/url]
