Hi all,
When I look at the sysprocesses that are currently running, there is a MISC (00C47E48) under the waitresource and lastwaittype LATCH_EX and it has been there for the past two weeks. Would someone please let me know what this means please.
Thank you

What version and service pack of SQL are you utilizing? The LATCH_EX is an Exclusive Latch, but the MISC is one I have never seen.
I did find a great MSDN article that lists most (I used to think all until you threw the MISC out there) WaitResources
I wish I could be more help

Poked around a bit and found one reference to MISC - it is thought to be a lock based on hard drive IO speed
