This from BOL:
When executing xp_cmdshell with the Microsoft® Windows® 95 or Microsoft Windows 98 operating systems, the return code from xp_cmdshell will not be set to the process exit code of the invoked executable. The return code will always be 0.

Thanks Andy for the tip.
But my problem is something like that:
command:
xp_cmdshell 'dir c:\'
result:
03/16/01 01:30p 0 AUTOEXEC.BAT
03/16/01 01:30p 0 CONFIG.SYS
But whem I´m doing on Windows Me the result is null
Have you seen that?

Havent tried it on Me, don't have a copy installed. Are you sure you have disk permissions for that folder?
