Using xp_cmdshell in WindowsMe

  • I'm using the comand xp_cmdshell in Windows 98 and it´s works fine, but whem I tried to use the same comand in Windows Me they return ok to me but didn´t give any answer.

    Who I can fix it?

  • This from BOL:

When executing xp_cmdshell with the Microsoft® Windows® 95 or Microsoft Windows 98 operating systems, the return code from xp_cmdshell will not be set to the process exit code of the invoked executable. The return code will always be 0.

  • Thanks Andy for the tip.

But my problem is something like that:

    command:

    xp_cmdshell 'dir c:\'

    result:

    03/16/01 01:30p 0 AUTOEXEC.BAT

    03/16/01 01:30p 0 CONFIG.SYS

But whem I´m doing on Windows Me the result is null

    Have you seen that?

  • Havent tried it on Me, don't have a copy installed. Are you sure you have disk permissions for that folder?
