Using views for FACT tables

  Heres the situation,

  We have a database and we are creating a data warehouse. Instead of moving all the data into one fact table with DTS. My team member tried using a view for the FACT table.

  What are the limitations of using views as FACT tables instead of creating a whole new table??

  Not answering your question completely, but did a pilot project last year on a under resourced box and a view was handy to throttle the available data to Analysis Server. Once everything was in place I removed the filter and let it run over night to do the recalcs, etc.
