Using SSIS to transfer data from SQL 2000 to SQL 2005

  Can anyone tell me that whether i can use SSIS ( SQL SErver Integration Services) to transfer data from SQL 2000 o Prior to SQL 2005 . Both the SQL Servers are placed in different locations and they are connect only thru internet.

  Please help me in this regard.
