  Is there any way at all for a non-sysadmin to use profiler? Due to a perceived security issue on sysadmin equivalents on development servers, I am going to lose my sysadmin rights. I use Profiler frequently to troubleshoot issues, and am trying to find a way to continue using it without having to get a DBA to do the trace.

  In SQL2005 or later sysadmins and anyone whith ALTER TRACE permission can use profiler.

  In SQL2000 or earlier only sysadmins can run a trace in profiler.
