Thanks for this article. PAL can be a pretty useful tool to have in the toolbox.

Jim,
I see that you got PAL from CodePlex. I've been a member of CodePlex for a number of years. Did you know that Microsoft has decided to shut down CodePlex this year? Given that, do you know where PAL is going to go?

WHAT????
I did not know MS was shutting down CodePlex, that is horrible. CodePlex is one of the best sites on the net in my opinion.
Looking at Brian Harry's blog (https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/bharry/2017/03/31/shutting-down-codeplex/) it looks like they will continue to host a full archive someplace for awhile but not sure how long.
This is a sad day. Thank you for the update.

I expect PAL will move to Github along with most of the open source tools Microsoft has published.

It is not yet in the Microsoft Git repo, but I would imagine it should get moved at some point.
You can browse the MS Git here
